His objective is to be strategically involved in a process that builds value and ensures the achievement of quality results. Omar believes that when the objectives are achieved it will build better and more efficient organizations and also better relationships with clients.
He is able to provide leadership in research and also to build and drive analysis based on macroeconomic and other sector based market trends. Mr. Alcock is analytical, a strategic thinker and results oriented. He also has a vast number of experiences in exploiting productivity suites such as PowerPoint to prepare and deliver presentations, MS Word to create professional reports, Excel to design spreadsheets and survey tools and some specific experiences in helping to design and develop project proposals.
His professional experiences span the financial sector, public sector and tertiary institutions. In the financial sector he was involved in both commercial banking and investment services for two prominent companies. in tertiary institutions he provided general research support and lectures post-graduate programs on policy and climate change related issues. In the public sector he served as a Senior Economist for over ten years and helped to advise on policies, regulations and legislation for the energy sector. Currently he serves as Senior Technical Officer responsible for mitigation activities and as a climate change negotiator. In the two later occasions, job functions included data collection, manipulating modelling tools, energy economics analyses, analyzing carbon markets, planning, monitoring and evaluating projects, involvement in database development and GHG inventory creation, providing training opportunities for stakeholders, monitoring the macro-economy along with presenting results to stakeholder groups.
